City of Conway Creating Pathways and Trails Master Plan
CITY OF CONWAY CREATING PATHWAYS AND TRAILS MASTER PLAN
CONWAY, SC (February 14, 2022) The City of Conway is seeking public input to help lead the creation of a Pathways and Trails Master Plan that will focus on improving trail connections between and within communities outside the City of Conway.
The City of Conway is comprised of 25 square miles with approximately 25,000 residents. The City seeks to develop a collaborative, community-supported Pathways & Trails Master Plan that outlines how to best meet the trail and pathway needs of its citizens by expansion of multi-modal trail networks and connectivity throughout the City. This can include: promote walking and biking opportunities on City properties, rights-of-way, and easements, work with Horry County to partner on extensions to Crabtree Greenway, and continue to highlight the Waccamaw River Blue Trail.
OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE
Develop a Pathways & Trails Master Plan for the City of Conway that identifies and prioritizes pedestrian and bicycle facility projects based on existing conditions, current plans, and the needs of the City. The planning process will be led by Design Workshop.
Staff will host a community meeting and an online survey to understand how the existing pathways and trails system are working and where critical gaps can be addressed.
